About Fake Bake
Fake Bake has created an organically based product to create the most natural looking tan without the harmful effects of UV rays. Fake Bake contains botanically extracted ingredients and no preservatives. Fake Bake tanning products guarantee to provide the richest looking tan in the most luxurious ways without the sun.
What to wear
Don't worry if you are self-conscious! Wear whatever you are comfortable in, whether it's your underwear, bikini or short shorts. Or of course you could use one our rather attractive paper thongs!
Tanning preparation
- We recommend that you obtain a patch test if you have never used any self-tanning products before or have sensitive skin.
- Do not use any other self tanning products for 1 week before treatment.
- Wax or shave at least 24 hours prior to treatment.
- On the day of your Fake Bake treatment, do not wear any make-up, deodorant, perfume, body oils or lotions as these may react with the tanning agents in Fake Bake spray tan.
- Always exfoliate before treatment.
- Wear loose dark clothing, sandals or flip flops.
Tanning aftercare
Immediately after your spray tan:
- Allow your tan to dry before putting your clothes back on
- Wear loose clothing to avoid rubbing your tan off
- Keep skin completely dry, avoid water contact
- Do not apply any products over the developing tan
- Allow tan to develop for at least 6 to 8 hours (overnight if possible)
- Avoid other hair and beauty treatments while tan is developing
- Avoid activities that make you perspire
- Drink hot beverages through a straw, as contact with a hot cup can strip colour from your tan
- Be careful with toothpaste as it can strip colour while your tan develops
After your tan has developed:
- Rinse off remaining colour guide with warm water. Once the water runs clear, gently wash with a mild soap.
- Avoid products that contain alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) as they can strip colour
- Avoid swimming pools, as chlorine will prematurely fade your tan
- To prolong your tan, use Fake Bake oil-free moisturiser/mistifier or Fake Bake smoothie oil, this will also hydrate your skin
